Computer Skills for Rural Ugandans
Provide rural Ugandans with computer skills training to promote information sharing and social cohesion.
Number of products requested:
13 N-computing units
Total funds required to implement proposal:
$6,653
Problem to be addressed:
Computer illiteracy and poor information sharing. Students, community members and civil society organizations lack access to computers in rural areas. This has made information dissemination in rural communities very difficult and has incurred greater costs on individuals who must travel to outside areas to access computer services.
How will these technologies address this problem?
The N-Computing technology will enable community members to benefit from computer access in their own villages at a lesser cost, promoting greater information sharing and the development of computer skills by rural Ugandans.
This technology will be provided by KIRUCODO to microfinance institutions, schools and the Mukono District NGO forum so it may be accessed by the public in central locations at a low cost. Approximately 1000 people will benefit from this effort.
